At the moment, I am in search of a new fish tank for my darling goldfish, Hugs and Kisses. Because I was never allowed to have a dog or cat - my family's allergic - I have become a fish person. I love watching them and taking care of them, and they have lived to be 7 years old, I'd say 6 years longer than expected. They've also grown about seven inches since I've had them. I think it's a fish miracle. I am now teaching them to swim through hoops (underwater, of course...) and swim to the surface when I stick my finger in the water. So far, they are actually learning at an incredible pace. ;)
But ahem, they've become too big for their mere 10 gallon fish tank, and I want them to be happy for the rest of their years, so I am spoiling them with a new 20+ gallon tank. I should be titled mother-of-the-year.
For those of you wondering, I named them Hugs and Kisses because their colors are red/orange and white, and Kisses has red on his lips. Yes, Kisses is a boy. I'm almost certain.
Edit: The new fish tank is found and purchased! Hugs and Kisses are now swimming happily in circles in their new home.
But my love of fishes has NOT allowed me to abandon my undying affection for dogs! This is an adorable puppy I ran into, or more like ran to, because I literally ran to meet him, outside of Starbucks. He was tied up (happily, though) and tried to lick the toes of every passerby. I sat down to play with him of course, allowing him to scratch up my legs in the process, but I couldn't be happier. I fell in puppy love with him.
I wuv this guy.
I had the best time on Monday with Sylvia and Lily when we went to SoNo for our annual summer Black Bear lunch. They have the greatest sweet potato fries ever! And the burgers are really, really good. They also have awesome TVs everywhere. And the station I-am-TV or something like that, where they perform rad stunts and some just stupid ones. No, no one?
We went to American Apparel, walked around in circles in the blazing heat, decided it was way too hot, and sat in the local aquarium bathroom. We then sat under a gazebo after they found us and kicked us out. Just kidding. They didn't kick us out. But we did sit under a gazebo, watching cute guys.
We also went on Lily's mom's friend's boat that evening and had a really good time jumping off the sides and swimming into the sunset. It was so much fun!
And on Tuesday, I did a double-feature with Lily. We saw Paper Heart aka the cutest movie ever, and I Love You, Man, in which Paul Rudd captured my heart forever. But seriously, they were both really good. And we were this close, THIS close (if you could see my thumb and forefinger, they are less than an inch apart) to watching Paper Heart completely by ourselves in the theater. But then some guys walked in after the previews, and Lily's dream of watching a movie in an empty theater was doomed.
I am working at home all day today, but tomorrow I'm having a sleepover with all of my friends. I am so happy to be seeing everyone.
