Some girls don't dance to the beat of the track

Happy New Year!

I spent my New Year's Eve driving around in a silver Mustang, scouting for frozen yogurt spots in LA. They are a ton, but none were open past 9 (boo). But a vanilla In-N-Out milkshake sure hit the spot - mmm! The first few hours of my actual new year were spent on a 6-hour plane back to ehNYCeh. But that's OK.

A couple of weeks ago, Lily and I dressed exactly alike for exactly one week - Twin Week. For the strangest and coolest reasons, we have a lot of the same clothes! Thus, we HAD to dress the same for a whole week at school. We do it because we can.

A true heart, and downtown art

Hello!
My birthday was on Sunday! I am officially a seventeener. I can see an R-rated movie and... and... well, that's it - awesome!
But seriously, it's pretty cool and I'm pretty excited about it. Best days of our lives, yeah?

I saw New Moon last month! The day (not midnight) it came out, in fact, with one of my best friends, Lineth! Saw it twice, have tons to say about it, but basically liked it a whole lot. To sum it up into points, I'd say this: 1. The song placement in the movie sucked... badly, which is a shame, 2. Taylor's body may be one thousand times better than Rob's spray-on abs, but girls, do not give up on Edward! And 3. I personally love Kristen as Bella, so too bad.

I'm a vampire girl. It had to be said.
In other news, Lady Gaga has gained my respect forever. It's not that I ever disliked her, I just never really paid attention to her. Ironic, I know. I'm now obsessed with The Fame Monster, and, really, no one can deny that the woman is extremely talented. I personally LOVE her gimmick - so fascinating, and slightly creepy, but rad all the way.

I love these. I literally just saw them; first thing I flipped to in the new Elle, which I picked up a 1/2 hour ago.
Finally, I need to explain why I don't blog for such long periods of time... I just blog when I have something good! Thanks for staying tuned!

Life's no fun without a good scare

This always gets me in the spirit. Whether it's Halloween, or not!

I love Halloween. I love buying Halloween decor and feeling festive! I love choosing what I'm going to dress up as - witch or pumpkin? A classic year. I eventually was a kooky witch! I LOVE scary movies and haunted houses! Even though I am such a scaredy cat during the rest of the year. And I love when everything comes in pumpkin flavor! My fave!

This Halloween, I was lazy all morning long, watching the Travel Channel and America's best haunted house specials. It's not even funny how much I see myself working at a haunted house when I'm older. I want to be one of the actors who gets to dress in costume every night and scare people! I like the behind the scenes stories of haunted houses - normal people, getting paid to scream at people who love Halloween just as much as they do! And owners customize their haunted houses in neat ways, and they switch it up every year. I think it's amazing!

At 5, I was off to Lily's to go trick-or-treating! Lily was Velma and Lineth was Daphne from Scooby Doo. Becky was Janis Joplin and Sylvia was an eighties prom girl. I've been a witch many times before, but I think I play the part well.

:)

Here's a peek at our costumes: Sylvia, Lily, and I on Friday, after we dressed up for school.

Tonight, we had SO much fun, and even though I got blisters on the back of my feet, it was SO WORTH IT! I got so many sweets! We also had an amazing dinner back at Lily's house and a dance party.

And people, you're never to old to trick-or-treat.

Raddest holiday ever.

Happy Halloween!

P.S. Check out Sylvia's marvelous blog for even more photos!

P.S.S. A thank you to everyone who reads my blog! It means so much to me that you stop by! I read every single one of your blogs, and look up to you guys!

I stopped living for moments and started living for people

A shout-out and a thank-you to the people (and animals) whom I've met and loved on my adventures
A British minister:
You inspired me to smile more often.
A group of characters at the Tower of London:
You actually reminded me of my friends.
My French tour guides:
You guys were so, so nice. You showed me a great first time in Paris!
Nathan!
You were the first British guy I fell in love with IN actual Britain. I love that you learned my name and actually cared about where I visited every single day. And I love that you opened the door for me every single time I left and returned. (I did so a few extra times just to visit you!)
A little rascal dog and the man in white:
People and puppies like you are the reason I know a part of me belongs in Hawaii.
Hawaiian dogs:
It's good to be free on the beach.
Hawaiian cats (feral):
I do not usually recommend petting the wildlife, but these cute kitties came MY way! And I've befriended them as if they were another set of cousins. They live on a mountain (it's name, I can't remember at the moment) that I've visited several times.
A crazy guy who jumped off a bridge:
Well, I think you inspired me to be a little more adventurous.
A friendly Jamaican donkey, whose owner taught me how to zip-line:
First of all, he's owned by the coolest guy ever. Second, he's got the best view on top of the grassiest hill I've ever seen in my life. Third, look at this handsome guy! I fell in love at first sight.
Dan:
Enough said! I'm blushing! You were really cute.
A lady and her reindeer at port:
You made it very clear that if I got too close, he would bite my head off (or something). But I admire him for being prodded around on that stupid leash, and I admire you for wearing shorts in Alaska. Brave woman.

All pictures by me!

Y'all know very well, what you say I don't do

I'm back! Yep, I took a break from blogging, because I felt busy with school and other things. Oh, and I had nothing to blog about. ;) But I'm excited to blog again, especially during one of my favorite months: October! Halloween is coming up - what are YOU dressing up as? I so badly want to be a Wild Thing, but I don't think I can make my costume cool enough by then. Maybe I'll be Max. Or my friends were thinking we'd all dress up as the Backstreet Boys. Oh, the possibilities...

What have I been up to? Here are pictures of me and my friends before our school's homecoming dance last weekend (I'm sorry to say we lost our homecoming game the night before). These were taken on my computer in my basement. Lineth pointed out how cool it is that we dress pretty different, but our dresses photograph so nicely together and we all stand out.
From left to right, we've got... Lineth, Sylvia, Becky, Lily, and me!
Getting silly, girls...
Sorry about that one :) Stay tuned for more posts!

Wednesday is the middle child of weekdays

At the moment, I am in search of a new fish tank for my darling goldfish, Hugs and Kisses. Because I was never allowed to have a dog or cat - my family's allergic - I have become a fish person. I love watching them and taking care of them, and they have lived to be 7 years old, I'd say 6 years longer than expected. They've also grown about seven inches since I've had them. I think it's a fish miracle. I am now teaching them to swim through hoops (underwater, of course...) and swim to the surface when I stick my finger in the water. So far, they are actually learning at an incredible pace. ;)

But ahem, they've become too big for their mere 10 gallon fish tank, and I want them to be happy for the rest of their years, so I am spoiling them with a new 20+ gallon tank. I should be titled mother-of-the-year.

For those of you wondering, I named them Hugs and Kisses because their colors are red/orange and white, and Kisses has red on his lips. Yes, Kisses is a boy. I'm almost certain.

Edit: The new fish tank is found and purchased! Hugs and Kisses are now swimming happily in circles in their new home.

But my love of fishes has NOT allowed me to abandon my undying affection for dogs! This is an adorable puppy I ran into, or more like ran to, because I literally ran to meet him, outside of Starbucks. He was tied up (happily, though) and tried to lick the toes of every passerby. I sat down to play with him of course, allowing him to scratch up my legs in the process, but I couldn't be happier. I fell in puppy love with him.

I wuv this guy.

I had the best time on Monday with Sylvia and Lily when we went to SoNo for our annual summer Black Bear lunch. They have the greatest sweet potato fries ever! And the burgers are really, really good. They also have awesome TVs everywhere. And the station I-am-TV or something like that, where they perform rad stunts and some just stupid ones. No, no one?

We went to American Apparel, walked around in circles in the blazing heat, decided it was way too hot, and sat in the local aquarium bathroom. We then sat under a gazebo after they found us and kicked us out. Just kidding. They didn't kick us out. But we did sit under a gazebo, watching cute guys.

We also went on Lily's mom's friend's boat that evening and had a really good time jumping off the sides and swimming into the sunset. It was so much fun!

And on Tuesday, I did a double-feature with Lily. We saw Paper Heart aka the cutest movie ever, and I Love You, Man, in which Paul Rudd captured my heart forever. But seriously, they were both really good. And we were this close, THIS close (if you could see my thumb and forefinger, they are less than an inch apart) to watching Paper Heart completely by ourselves in the theater. But then some guys walked in after the previews, and Lily's dream of watching a movie in an empty theater was doomed.
I am working at home all day today, but tomorrow I'm having a sleepover with all of my friends. I am so happy to be seeing everyone.

Something Witty

Hello! Thank you again for taking the time to read my blog! :) This is a random one.

I went swimming with Sylvia yesterday! I love swimming and Sylvia!

Other than that, this week I saw the movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and it was so extremely rad that I almost jumped up during the middle of it to high-five my friend Lineth, who'd suggested seeing it in the first place. I really wasn't interested in seeing it at first (I know NOTHING about G.I. Joe - thought it was the name of the main guy? No matter, the movie rocked). But I don't know why I doubted it, because I truly am a boy at heart (a very geeky boy), and I learn to love every single action movie you could possibly throw at me.

And last week, I saw Funny People with my friend Lily, and we both loved it! It was so good, and Seth Rogen was REALLY cute (Nicola!). We laughed a lot, and I thought it ended really well, and I would recommend it to everyone. Pretty much can't say enough nice things about it - I thought it was great!

Gonna see Paper Heart next week, hopefully, and I Love You, Man. Hello, Paul Rudd!
And my heart is seriously going to pass out if I don't see Taking Woodstock the day it releases, August 28. So. Good. Hello, Emile Hirsch! And Jonathon Groff, who was in the ever amazing Spring Awakening. You could call Taking Woodstock my summer awakening.

I really can't believe school's almost here. It kind of depresses me. But as well as those movies, these things cheer me up.

First off, plaid. I want a million plaid flannel shirts. Just to wear, back to back, every. single. day.

I saw Hair last Saturday in New York with my grandparents and loved it. The play was amazing, and I think the music is absolutely legendary. The new Broadway cast is so talented. And I am now OBSESSED with the flower child era.

And I got a haircut yesterday! For school I don't do much with my hair except leave it down, but I do like wearing cool clips, and now I've collected a ton. I like wearing small flower pins, metallic pink bows, and butterflies, in honor of Cassie Ainsworth. I admire Cassie in general. She's very free-spirited and a dreamy character.

That's all for now. Pretty dull till school starts!

And just saying, Kristen Stewart is pretty AND badass. I love these pictures.
